Belize Facts

Belize is a small country located in Central America south Mexico and east of Guatemala. The population is about 250,000 - 320,000 with a great deal of cultural variety.

Official language is English, with Spanish & Kriol also largely spoken. Belize gained full independence from Great Britain on September 21, 1981.

The weather in Belize does not fluctuate very much, staying generally warm between 75 and 100 deg. fehreinheit. Rather, seasons are distinguished by rainy and dry.

Peace Corps has had volunteers active in Belize since 1962.
I will be doing Youth Development Programs, working
with youth to provide them with tools for self-sufficiency, life skills, job skills, and education.
